2007—A year filled with creating value for our members
Arizona Federal’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce a year-end distribution of nearly $4 million in addition to a year filled with creating value. Because of your membership and contributions to this not-for-profit financial institution, we’re fulfilling our purpose to create value for you—our members—in more ways than one.
“We exist by and for our member-owners. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we strive to create real, tangible, and measurable financial value for all of our member-owners. This unique organizational structure in the financial services industry provides a distinct advantage over other financial institutions, and we hope that difference is abundantly clear to all of our member-owners,” said Ronald L. Westad, President and CEO of Arizona Federal.
Here’s how we created value throughout 2007:
New Branches
We added three new branches to the growing Arizona Federal family:
- The 16th Street and Southern branch opened on March 24 and is located at 1505 E. Southern Ave. in Phoenix.
- The Laveen branch opened on February 10 and is located at 6150 S. 35th Ave., inside Wal-Mart.
- The Superstition Springs branch opened on November 19 and is located on 7202 E. Southern Ave. in Mesa.
Member Business Services
In June, we rolled out our initial line of Member Business Services. Our business checking accounts offer a “pay for what you use” fee structure which makes business services both affordable and easy. Plus, business members will benefit from online banking, great dividend rates, business insurance and trusted referral services.
SURE Account
In July, we introduced a new type of checking and savings account that provides added security to members who are interested in additional safeguards to protect their assets. The SURE account is different from a traditional checking and savings account and is geared towards members who have a fixed income, predictable expenses and don’t need constant access to large sums of cash.
IDSafeChoice
In October, we began offering IDSafeChoice to all members at no cost. IDSafeChoice offers identity theft resolution if you fall victim to identity theft.
Community Services
We’re dedicated to playing a positive role in our community. During the past year we participated in a number of community events and invested 720 hours serving our community and touching the lives of many.
A creation of nearly $4 million in additional value for members
As a result of your participation in a not-for-profit financial institution, members received a year-end distribution in December totalling nearly $4 million. The amount was based on how much intereste the member paid on qualifying loand, and how much in dividends the member earned on qualifying deposits. This return is in addition to the competitive loan and savings rates members have experienced throughout the year. Log into CU Online and check your account to see how much you received.
2007 has been another successful year at Arizona Federal. We’re committed to providing you with superior service as we look forward to another year of continued growth and success.
